Meet LA-Anna

Hope Bearer

Warrior Name: Hope Bearer

La-Anna the Hope Bearer carries light through some of the darkest valleys of her life. Even when her body was misunderstood and her pain dismissed, she refused to let despair define her. Instead, she chose resilience, prayer, and love — transforming years of heartbreak into a story of miracles. By speaking openly, advocating fiercely, and reminding others that “you are enough right where you are,” she passes hope forward like a torch. Her strength is not only in what she survived, but in how she shines for others who are still walking through the unknown.

From Hatred to Hope:
La-Anna’s Fertility Journey

The Beginning of the Journey

La-Anna describes her fertility journey as “From Hatred to Hope.” For eight long years, she lived with infertility and unexplained pain. Doctors overlooked her symptoms until she was finally diagnosed with two uteruses, two cervixes, fibroids, and endometriosis. The path included several surgeries and even a failed IVF transfer.

But through the struggle came miracles. After years of waiting, she and her husband welcomed their first miracle daughter. Later, after more procedures — including a surgery to open her two cervixes and to remove fibroids — they were blessed with their second miracle daughter.

Advice for Those Still Waiting

La-Anna wants others walking this road to know: you are enough. Your value is not tied to the outcome of your journey. She encourages others to:

  • Cherish loved ones.

  • Treat yourself after difficult appointments or procedures.

  • Make time for self-care and welcome support from those who offer it.

  • Lean on prayer and conversation to release what you’re carrying.

Taking Charge of Your Health

One of La-Anna’s biggest lessons was learning to advocate for herself. She encourages anyone struggling with fertility or reproductive health to:

  • Listen closely to your body.

  • Speak up if something feels wrong.

  • Don’t hesitate to seek second, third, or even fourth opinions.

Finding Community and Resources

Supportive communities helped La-Anna feel less alone. Some that encouraged her most include:

  • The White Dress Project

  • Uniquely Knitted

  • The Fertility Conversations

  • Filling Empty Wombs

  • Fertility Empowers

  • ENDO Black Incorporated

How Loved Ones Can Help

For friends and family wanting to support someone in this space: simply be there. Listen, offer love, and stand by them without pressure or judgment. Sometimes presence speaks louder than words.

A Message of Hope

La-Anna’s story is not just about surgeries, diagnoses, or setbacks. It’s about holding on to hope, finding strength in self-advocacy, and discovering that even in the hardest seasons, love and miracles are still possible.

Gems for the journey

Advocate Relentlessly for Your Health

Write down your symptoms, questions, and concerns before every appointment. Don’t leave until you feel heard.

Prioritize Self-Care and Small Acts of Kindness to Yourself

After every doctor’s visit or treatment, plan a small “treat” for yourself — a coffee, a walk, a cozy nap, or time with someone who uplifts you.

Lean on Community and Let Others In

Explore online or local fertility support groups. Share your story when you feel ready. Let loved ones know how they can best support you — even if it’s just by being present.
