Meet Mauree
FaithBearer
Warrior Name: FaithBearer
One who carries faith even in the darkest hours. Throughout her fertility journey, Mauree faced loss, uncertainty, and difficult choices with a rare blend of strength and grace. Grounded in faith, she found peace through prayer in what she couldn’t control and compassion for herself and others. Her belief didn’t shield her from pain — but it carried her through it. And now, she shares that same faith openly, offering hope and support to others walking a similar path.
Grace in Waiting: From Fertility to Family
A Life We Thought Was Full
Mauree and her husband Josh never thought they wanted children. Life felt complete — filled with travel, freedom, and the simple joy of being together. But in 2016, something changed. Quietly, unexpectedly, they both felt ready to try. If it wasn’t meant to be, they agreed, they wouldn’t pursue fertility treatments. They would leave it in God’s hands.
Hope — and Heartbreak
August 2016: Mauree had her IUD removed.
September 2016: A positive pregnancy test — sooner than expected!
8 weeks later: A weak heartbeat. The baby measured only 5 weeks. Doctors warned of likely miscarriage.
Two weeks later, their fears were confirmed — no heartbeat. A D&C followed. Just a few months later, in December 2016, another positive test — followed quickly by another loss. Their doctor recommended Shady Grove Fertility. But hadn’t they said they wouldn’t go down this road?
When Everything Changes
Despite their earlier decision, Mauree now desperately wanted a baby. The losses had changed her. And now, the longing was deep and undeniable. She felt as though it was her body, her fault. It was one of the lowest points in her life.
Eventually, they sought help at Shady Grove Fertility. Tests revealed a diagnosis: Premature Ovarian Failure — a condition where the ovaries lose function earlier than expected. Her egg supply was declining, and the viable ones were few. It was a gut-wrenching diagnosis.
The doctor laid out their options:
Try conceiving naturally with the help of progesterone.
Attempt IUI.
Go straight to IVF.
They decided to try progesterone for one cycle first.
The First Miracle: Taylor
That one cycle worked. Their beautiful daughter Taylor was born. A light after darkness.
Trying Again
In December 2018, they felt ready to try for a sibling for Taylor. More tests. Worse numbers. Fewer eggs. Doctors advised immediate IVF, but Mauree chose to try three rounds of progesterone first. It had worked once — why not again? Three cycles. No pregnancy. The IVF conversation returned. Emotionally drained but hopeful, Mauree discovered their insurance would cover IVF — except for a $7,500 deductible. After prayer and consideration, they moved forward.
At the start, Mauree had 8 follicles.
By transfer day, just 2 embryos remained.
On the way to the clinic, they got the call: only 1 had survived.
The Second Miracle: Logan
That one embryo became Logan — Taylor’s little brother.
A miracle. A reminder of hope.
